“I see these young women who are in their 30s or 40s with these horrible cervical cancers — advanced stage 3, 4. These are diseases you should be seeing in Third World countries or where they don’t have health care,” says Dr. Summer Dewdney, a gynecologic oncologist at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
“No woman should ever die of cervical cancer, a disease that’s almost 100 percent preventable. We know what causes it, we know how to prevent it, and it’s time to end it.”
